Tinubu, Shettima Relocate To Defence House Ahead Of May 29 Inauguration

 P resident-elect’ Bola Tinubu and ‘Vice-President-elect’ Kashim Shettima will start operating from a government-owned complex following the allocation of the Defence House for their use. The duo who moved into the Defence House on Wednesday are expected to use the facility till after swearing-in on May 29, and subsequently relocate to Aso Rock Villa where the presidential residence is. From the Defence House, Tinubu will receive briefings and hold key meetings as ‘President-elect’. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, as the president-elect. This was amid protests by the Labour Party and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and calls from various quarters that the results of the elections should be cancelled going by the irregularities around the use of the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS Tinubu, a former Lagos State governor, was declared the ‘president-elect’ after he polled 8,794

LAWYER URGES COURT TO STOP TINUBU'S,MAY 29 INAUGURATION

 Lawyer urges court to stop President-elect ,Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu from being inaugurated on May 29,2023,has been filed at the Court of Appeal in Abuja. The suit marked CA/CV/259/2023 was filed by a Presidential candidate in the 2019 Presidential election identified as Barrister Chief Ambrose Albert Owuru and his political party ,Hope Democratic Party(HDP).Owuru claimed to be adjudged constitutional winner of the 2019 Presidential election and as such he's against  the inauguration of Tinubu or anybody else as a successor to Buhari on the ground that he is the constitutionally adjudged winner of the 2019 election and has not spent his tenure as required by law.The HDP candidate also maintained that President Buhari has been usurping his petition filed in 2019 in which he challenged the purported declaration of Buhari as the election winner.  House of Reps member Ismail Maihanci dies weeks to his swearing-in He was elected under the  Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  and died in the early hours of Saturday. The funeral will take place later in the day in accordance with Islamic customs. Maihanci who was born on October 22, 1986, worked as a businessman and a Special Adviser to the Governor of Taraba State, Darius Ishaku. He was also previously the Secretary of the PDP in Taraba State. Sharing the news, Bashir Ahmed tweeted: “I have just received a sad news about the passing of our brother, Hon. Ismail Maihanci, a member-elect of Jalingo, Yorro and Zing, Federal Constituency in Taraba State. May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannah al-Firdaus”

 A 36 year old lawyer,identified as Abasiesebanga Ikoiwak has been arrested along with five others by the police for allegedly killing her 41 year old husband Barrister Godwin Ikoiwak in Akwa Ibom State. According to the prosecution witness that stood before Uyo High Court ,the late Barrister did not know that the boy who has been living with him in his house for years was his wife's son because the wife had told him that the child was her younger brother.
